KARACHI: Former Pakistan Test Captain Salman Butt might be considered for the West Indies Test series after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) cleared the player, according to media reports.
Reportedly, a formal clearance has been given to selectors to consider Salman Butt for the Test series against West Indies scheduled to be played in the Caribbean in April and May this year.
Salman Butt was the main character behind the spot-fixing scandal that occurred during Pakistan’s tour of England in 2010. He was banned for five years after proven guilty and served jail time in England as well.
Mohammad Aamir and Mohammad Asif were the other two players behind the fixing scandal and were banned as well. Mohammad Aamir has already made a comeback in all formats of the game for Pakistan after serving his ban.
