Unknown miscreants set more than eleven cars including passenger buses on fire in various areas of Karachi.
All the markets are closed and all the public transport goes on a slow side in various parts of the city. Police has made the rangers alert after these incidents.
After the murder of the former member of MQM in provincial assembly, Liaqat Qureshi, and the announcement of “Mourning day” from MQM, unknown miscreants started setting cars and buses on fire in various parts of the city.
Within the last 24 hours the number of vehicles that fell prey to the activities of miscreants has crossed 20, including passenger buses and cars.
Buses and cars were set on fire in Liqatabad, Gharibabad, Shahrah-e-Quaidin, Nagan Chorangi, Nipa Chorangi, Business road, Lucky star, Ibraheem Haidri, and various other areas.
Unknown miscreants tried to set cars on fire in the areas of Malir and Korangi. Ranger’s sources have confirmed the arrest of nine people.
According to the details, all these incidents are likely to have connection with the murder of Liaqat Qureshi on Friday evening. MQM leader Farooq Sattar had announced the call for observing a mourning day on Sunday after the funeral of late Liaqat Qureshi. After this announcement all the activists and supporters of MQM wore black ribbons and flattered black flags on all the buildings of NGO offices and on the central roads.
Public transport is completely closed in the city as the unknown miscreants set 11 vehicles on fire including passenger buses. Petrol pumps in various areas are also closed.
Unknown miscreants set a truck and a bus on fire in Liaqatabad. A mini bus was burnt on Nipa Chorangi, and a bus was burnt on Khaild Bin Waleed road.
Mourning day is observed in Haiderabad, Thatha, Nawab Shah, Nosehro Feroz, Sakhar in various other parts of Sindh province.
Transport and intercity service is closed in Haiderabad as protestants have burnt tyres on the roads. Unknown culprits did aerial firing in Mirpur Khas which left the city panic griped.
Since past two days all the business activities and routine life activities has been closed in interior Sindh including Dadu, Sanghar, Nawab Shah, Thatha, Mir pur Khas, Shikarpur and Sakhar.
In the various districts of Sindh angry activists of MQM started patrolling since last night. Police was deployed on all the sensitive areas in order to maintain law and order situation.
Rangers also kept on patrolling in the province.
