Pakistan and India have agreed to shorten the visa issuance process, and ease visa requirements for businessmen, professionals, and elderly to promote people-to-people contact, an official source said on Saturday. This agreement was reached during the commerce secretaries talks to facilitate bilateral growth. The people-to-people contact was termed a precursor for the promotion of trade and it was decided that this matter would be settled on a fast track basis within the next few weeks. It was decided that people above 65 years would be eligible for obtaining visa at the border. For businessmen and professionals, it was agreed that the conditions would be softened.
