RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Managing Director Ch Abdul Ghafoor Khan said on Thursday that this has been a right time for the Pakistan Missions Abroad to act more efficiently and with accelerated pace for sending more tourists to Pakistan.
He expressed these views while talking to media after completing four days official visit to Thailand, adding that the Pakistani living abroad is the ambassadors of peace and assets for the country.
During his stay at Bangkok, the PTDC MD visited the Pakistan’s embassy on the invitation of Ambassador Dr Sohail Khan where they discussed the visa issues faced by the tourists intending to visit Pakistan.
“Soon we will establish tourist police force to provide maximum security to tourists. There is a lot of potential of religious tourism as there are numerous holy places of Sikhs, Hindus and Buddhist situated in Pakistan but they face many difficulties in obtaining visa”, he added.
He expressed hope that a large number of Thai tourists would be visiting Pakistan in near future and the Pakistan embassy might consider providing them with the visa facilities without delays.
“We have started the process of improving hotel and accommodation facilities in Pakistan as well as an increase in a number of hotels”, he added.
He told journalists that the Pakistani ambassador in Bangkok informed him that as compared to previous years, the embassy has eased visa issuance. In addition, problems of the Pakistanis residing in Thailand were being solved at top priorities.
