PSL’17: Punjab govt to deploy Pashto speaking cops to facilitate fans from KP during final

LAHORE: The Punjab government has said that a contingent of Pashto speaking police officers from Punjab Police will facilitate fans of Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final which to be held on Sunday.

The news was made public by Punjab government in a tweet on Friday night after the Peshawar Zalmi-Karachi Kings clash.

The final of the second edition of PSL will be held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

All foreign players of the Quetta Gladiators have pulled out citing security reasons. Peshawar Zami owner Javed Afridi had stated that foreign players of his team were willing to play in the final of the PSL.

Islamabad United coach Dean Jones had already announced that he would come to Lahore to witness the match.

Earlier, PSL Chairman Najam Sethi had also requested fans to cooperate with the security personnel deployed at Gaddafi stadium to ensure that safety prevailed.
