My city on fire

The ongoing target killing has gunned down more than 30 persons in Karachi, including political activists and common peoples. The shops were shuttered down and buses were set on fire in protest of the recent killings.

The situation seems beyond the control of political and security administrations of the province. The natives of the city are exhausted and fed up with the fearful life they are living in.

I would like to request the political parties, government and other security institutions to join hands to create the feeling of peace, brotherhood and harmony for the sake of the country and its people before it gets divided.

It has been reported that the recent blast at a gambling den in Karachi was due to the refusal of owner to pay extortion money to the culprits.

It is not surprising, given the deteriorating condition of police, that how much strong and bold has organised crime become in the city.

It is unfortunate that the Karachi, the City of Quaid has to suffer at the hands of such criminal elements. With various mafias and criminal outfits extending their influence on the city, the police seem to be helpless in curtailing these elements.
