DUBAI: South Africa have grabbed the top position from world champions Australia in latest one-day international (ODI) rankings issued by International Cricket Council (ICC).
The Proteas achieved this feat after whitewashing Sri Lanka by 5-0, and are at number one spot in ODI rankings with 119 rating points. Australia have slipped to the second position with 118 rating points, whereas, New Zealand are at number three with 113 rating points.
Pakistan are still at number eight with 89 rating points.
Australia’s David Warner tops the ODI batting rankings. AB de Villiers is at number two and Virat Kohli at number three. Pakistan’s Babar Azam is the only batsman in top ten in ODI rankings. He is at tenth spot.
When we talk about the bowling rankings, Imran Tahir has jumped five places and become the number one ODI bowler. He took this position from New Zealand’s Trent Boult who is now at second place. Sunil Narine is at number three. No Pakistan bowler is in first ten at the moment.
Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan stills tops the ODI all-rounder rankings and Pakistan’s Mohammad Hafeez is at the fourth spot.
