Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Saturday that the future of the country lies in our youth; therefore, they must understand national politics, fruits of development, importance of education and also must understand economy development.
This he said while delivering speech on `The Role of Youth in National Integration and Regional Connectivity’, organized at University of Karachi on Saturday. The chief minister said that the youth are lifeline of this country, they are future of the nation; therefore, their education and understanding to national politics, democracy and economy must be comprehensive. “Some people believe that the politics is a dirty business but I would say those who have the ability and sense to serve the people should join politics,” he said and added that he had been doing different jobs as an engineer and banker but the satisfaction he had attained as a politician had not been felt by him in other services and jobs. This may be result of service to the poor people of this province,” he said.
Replying to a question, he said that the condition of graduation for a member of parliament was imposed by a dictator; otherwise, academic education had nothing to do with the politics, but it was the knowledge, experience, ability and instincts to serve the people and to protect their legitimate rights was quite enough for a person to become a member of parliament. Responding to the issue raised by Dr Farooq Sattar and Mustafa Kamal for the powers of local bodies, the chief minister said that he was giving Rs 50 million to MKC every month apart from its share in the Octroi and Zila Tax (OZT) and also his government was paying electricity bills of Karachi Water Board for smooth supply of water to the citizens.
Later, speaking on World Cancer Day, Murad Ali Shah said that he was committed to serving ailing people of Sindh, particularly the cancer patients because he had lost his parents with cancer disease.
The ceremony was organized by Kiran Hospital at its conference room. He was accompanied by Health Minister Dr Sikandar Mendhro. The chief minister said that the Kiran Hospital was founded by Prime Minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and chief minister Sindh Syed Abdullah Shah, the father of the CM, in 1993. “It started functioning in 2001. “I feel inner pain when I listen about cancer because I have lost my father and mother, both, with cancer,” he said and burst into tears and went on saying “I feel the pain of this disease and know how it turns people orphans, deprive them of their near and dear ones.
Shah vowed to support all the cancer hospitals, particularly the Kiran in the shape of funds and necessary machinery and equipment. “I am with you and would extend you maximum support,” he assured the Chairman Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and director Kiran Hospital Dr Akhtar.

He paid surprise visit to Safari Park and go through its various portions. By the time the director Safari Park reached and he briefed him that the park stretches over an area of 270 acres.
CM MEETS PARTICIPANTS OF EXERCISE AMAN: The participants of 36 countries in the Amn Exercise being hosted by Pakistan Navy had an interactive session with Sindh chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah over a cup of team and exchanged their views.
