DUBAI: Pakistan Super League (PSL) management has ensured foolproof security to overseas players who are going to play the final match in Lahore.

PSL Chairman Najam Sethi has met with all foreign players and briefed them about the security plan. He also informed them about the satisfaction shown by International Cricket Council (ICC) and Federation of International Cricketers  Association (FICA) over security measurements.

PSL ambassador Ramiz Raja said perceptions about the beautiful city of Lahore might be muddled, but the players who will come to Lahore to play the final are going to make a priceless contribution to the cricket of Pakistan.

Wasim Akram, who was born in Lahore, also encouraged the overseas players to play the final in Lahore and said their effort will be remembered for years.

Akram added that he was greatly inspired when he used to see his idols like Michael Holding and Sunil Gavaskar in flesh playing in the grounds of Pakistan.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has bought four bulletproof buses, and is also thinking about the idea to transport players to the stadium by air, and fly them out immediately after the match.

The final of the second edition of PSL is scheduled to be played on March 5 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

PSL organisers have also made arrangements to organise alternate drafting in last week of February if some players refuse to play the final in Lahore.

All five franchises will add new players in their teams who are willing to play in Pakistan. For this purpose, local talent will also be considered.

  1. Aren’t foreigners living in Lahore? What is so special about these cricket players. Sethi can beg them but we care two hoots.
