Engineering Consultancy Services Punjab to be revamped

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over meeting here on Monday to review steps being taken for the reorganisation and capacity building of the Engineering Consultancy Services Punjab (ECSP). ECSP Managing Director Shehzad Rehman gave a briefing regarding the reorganisation of the institution.

Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif said that the basic aim of ECSP is to provide high standard consultative services for projects of the Punjab government and that the institution should have expertise and core capacity with regard to all sectors.

He said that an immediate third party audit evaluation should be conducted for the human resources acquired for the institution. The chief minister said that the inclusion of high quality, experienced human resources is vital.

“Young experienced human resources should be included in the institution for achieving objectives and coping with the challenges,” he said.”ECSP will have to be made an international standard consultancy company. Speedy measures should be made for the capacity building of the institution and the final recommendations and business plan should be evolved and presented within one month in this regard,” he added.

Provincial Ministers Malik Nadeem Kamran, Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Chairman PCTB Akram Khan, the chief secretary, concerned secretaries, MD PPRA and other relevant officials attended the meeting while the planning and development chairman participated in the meeting through a video link.
