Overseas Pakistanis Commission recovers Rs 23m

Punjab’s Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab recovered 3 kanals and 5 marlas of land besides payment of 23.2 million rupees to a Japan based Pakistani expat.

According to OPC Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti, Jahangir Ahmad of Hokido, Japan, lodged a complaint stating that his father had sold 7 acres of land situated in Moza Rai Chand, District Chiniot in 2013. The purchasing party initially paid some amount in instalments but after some time, refused to pay remaining the Rs 23.2 million.

Afzaal Bhatti said that this complaint was referred to the Chiniot office of the commission for further action. The Chiniot office then enforced the retrieval of 3 kanals and 5 marlas of land and a payment of the outstanding dues to the complainant Jahagir Ahmed.

Jahangir Ahmed thanked the OPC and its Chiniot office for their efforts in retrieving his property.
