ISLAMABAD: More evidence about deep connections between the ruling families of Qatar and Pakistan have surfaced in wake of the reported business deals between the two ruling families.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Wednesday sent a special plane carrying a quality breed Horse for the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and a special plane (C-130) of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) was used to transport the same from Lahore to Doha.
Spokesman of the Prime Minister’s House, Muhayuddin Wani chose not to contradict the news.
An official letter, a copy of which is available with Pakistan Today, says the entire tale.
The official communiqué carries subject  “FLIGHT CLEARANCE FOR C-130 SPECIAL AIRCRAFT CARRYING HORSE AS A GIFT”.
“This is in supersession of Ministry’s earlier fax message of even number dated 19th January, 2017, regarding the subject cited above.  A special aircraft (C-130) carrying a horse will travel to Qatar on 1st February 2017 instead of 28th January 2017. The horse is a gift from the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the Emir of the State of Qatar. The aircraft will return to Pakistan on 2nd February 2017 instead of 29th January 2017,” reads the letter.
“Revised route, flight and aircraft details of the special aircraft (C-130) registration number 4159/4178 call sign PAAF-374 is attached.  Revised diplomatic flight clearance may please be obtained
from local authorities and conveyed to the Ministry at the earliest for special aircraft (C-130),” says the letter.
The letter went on to say that the diplomatic flight clearance should be valid for 72 hours for journey from Qatar to Islamabad on 1st February 2017.
“For Parep Doha only: Landing, parking and takeoff permission for Doha Hammad International Airport (OTHH) airport may also be obtained for the C-130. (Kindly indicate if any other airport will be used for the landing/parking of the aircraft),” concluded the letter.
Earlier, the date of departure was fixed for January 29, however, due to some reasons, the flight was postponed for February 1.
But this is not the first time a nexus between Royal family of Qatar and Prime Minister have surfaced.
Last year, media reports claimed the Prime Minister had gifted a quality breed Bull and a Cow to the Qatari Emir.
Later, in November 2016, the federal government issued a special permit to Qatari Prince Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al-Thani allowing the royal to hunt internationally protected migratory bird, houbara bustard, in Punjab.
When the Royal family landed with huge delegation at Rahimyar Khan airport, Prime Minister’s son Hussain Nawaz had received them.
While the opposition party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) assails the ruling family for using Qatar’s royal family to hide Prime Minister’s money laundering, the government claims that hunting of houbara bustard and other gifts like cattle and horse are used by the Pakistan for ‘soft diplomacy’ with Arab Monarchs under a ‘foreign policy requirement’ to maintain friendship with the allies and to win favours.
