RAWALPINDI: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor Tuesday (today) said that the country doesn’t want to engage in war with anyone.

“We don’t want war with anyone. War is not a solution to anything,” he said while briefing the media on the country’s progress in counter-terror efforts.

“We want the Kashmir issue to be resolve via United Nations resolutions and dialogue, but this desire for peace should not be misconstrued as a weakness.”

“There have been 945 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary over the past three years,” he said.

“Intelligence-based Operations and combing operations [in Pakistan] will continue until the remaining terrorists are eliminated,” he said.

“Over 70,000 Pakistanis have sacrificed their lives since the launch of war against terror in Pakistan. We will continue to render sacrifices until the country is put on the desired level of progress,” head of military’s media wing added.

Regarding house arrest of Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed, Maj-Gen Ghafoor said it was a policy decision taken in the national interest. “Situation will become clearer in the days to come,” he said.

  1. You don't want war because you can't sustain one. You already had four wars with India. All lost. It was in one of the wars that your country was divided and a new country was born. If you want to try once again including nuclear war, don't worry you will be given befitted by india in nuclear weapons .
