BISP needs Rs 100b in next budget: Farzana

Benazir Income Support Programme Chairperson Farzana Raja on Tuesday said that an allocation of Rs100 billion would be required in the next federal budget for the successful continuing of the BISP.
Addressing a news conference at the BISP secretariat, Farzana Raja said that one million deserving families have already been provided the coverage of life insurance and the facility would be extended to all deserving families registered with BISP at the completion of poverty survey in June 2011.
She said the 70 % work of nationwide poverty survey had been completed while poverty survey in FATA would be started from May 3 of the current year. She further informed that 20 computerised balloting under Waseela-e-Haq scheme have been done already and 10 thousand deserving families have completed their training to initiate a business with the financial assistance of BISP. She said that under Waseela-e-Rozgar scheme, almost 150 thousand individuals belongs to deserving families would get vocational/skill training every year.
Moreover, she said, modern facilities i.e. health insurance, Benazir Smart Card, Mobile Phone Banking were also being extended to these families first time ever in the history of Pakistan.

  1. Benazir Income Support Programme is a great initiative by the Govt. of Pakistan who have think about the poorest people of the Pakistan who need financial Assistance in the shape of Cash Grant, Health Facilities, Technical Education and Smart loan.
    BISP Programme should run as long as the Pakistan Remain……….Because the vulnerable people of across the pakistan are being helped by the BISP.
