Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) two-day sit-in against drone attacks encouraged people and loyal leaders towards country to hold public gatherings avoiding any fear and terror of bomb and suicide blasts.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan spent two days and a night in open atmosphere on road with workers and supporters ignoring any fear of untoward happing. Public gatherings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) had been stopped since March 31 when Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman escaped two consecutive suicide attacks on March 30 at Swabi and in March 31 at Charsadda.
The attacks killed 20 people while more than 40 were injured. The PTI sit-in also paved the way for rest of the political leaders to engage themselves in public gatherings to prepare for an unexpected upcoming election. The participants of the sit-in expressed full confidence in their leader and said that people should neglect any fear to lodge their voices against injustice, unemployment, inflation, missing persons, target killings and ransom cases.
Mushtaq Ahmad, a resident of North Waziristan, said the PTI sit-in showed that people were not in a position to bear more but to come to streets ignoring any fear.
