LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Friday warned people against the purchase of plots in any scheme without the authority’s approval.
According to details, there have been 150 illegal schemes in the provincial capital and purchase of plots in any scheme was not recommended until the LDA approved it, and the authority advised people to get information about the legal status of residential schemes and plots from the authority before purchasing.
According to LDA sources, a list of LDA approved private schemes was available on its website www.lda.gop.pk and people could benefit from it.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in a recent meeting, took notice of illegal schemes and directed the authorities concerned to take indiscriminate action against illegal housing societies, zero tolerance policy should be adopted against the illegal housing societies and steps be taken for a proper check on illegal constructions as no one would be allowed to loot hard-earned money of the masses, the CM added.
The Metropolitan Planning Wing of the LDA had carried out 74 operations against illegal housing schemes in the city during 2016, the sources added.
Sources assured that the LDA has been taking all possible steps for fulfilling its basic responsibility to provide the best services to people.
