LAHORE: Pakistan International Airlines’ ( PIA ) premier service has incurred losses of Rs. 1.5 billion in first three months since its starting.
According to reports, Rs1.29 billion payment was carried out as a rent of planes taken on wait lease while Rs1 crore was paid in London for the limousine service of the passengers.
While talking to the channel, controller South news, Rehan Hashmi, said that despite the claims of profit by PIA, the service is facing the deficit.
“When PIA started it in 2016, it was stated that the service will be started from Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad to London but due to its high prices and low numbers of passengers, the services remained unable to meet its expectations,” he said.
However, PIA spokesman said that the reason behind the loss is to wait lease aircraft.
