CM approves risk allowance for nurses

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has approved giving risk allowance of Rs.9000 per month to nurses in the government hospitals.

The nurses will begin receiving an amount of Rs.4000 from January 2017 and Rs.9000 from July 2017. A summary was sent to the chief minister by Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Secretary Najam Ahmed Shah in this regard.

In this connection, a delegation of the nursing association, headed by its President Rozina Manzoor, General Secretary Shehnaz, called on Najam Ahmed Shah at his office on Friday. A large number of nurses were included in the delegation. The delegation thanked Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Minister Health Khawaja Salman Rafique and the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Secretary Najam Ahmed Shah for granting risk allowance to them.

The delegation assured that they will work for the betterment of the healthcare delivery system and provision of medical cover to the patients with dedication. Najam Ahmed Shah said that the department is revising the yardstick for the bed, doctor and nurses ratio, that would also enhance the posts of doctors as well as nurses. The secretary observed that the real target is to ensure best healthcare facilities and quality medical cover to the patients and all steps are being taken in this regard.
