Turkish police release six Pakistanis after formal documentation

At least six Pakistani  nationals held captive by human smugglers have been released after legal paper work, the Foreign Office confirmed on Tuesady.

Two of the men Ashfaq and Ameen have contacted the Pakistani embassy in Turkey.

The other four are expected to contact the Pakistani authorities today.

The Foreign Office added that the Turkish police authorities had been informed about the status of other kidnapped Pakistanis by human smugglers.

Earlier, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was able to trace human smugglers who abducted four Pakistanis in Turkey on January 3.

The Foreign Office also confirmed that four Pakistanis hailing from Gujranwala were abducted by the human smugglers in Turkey.

However, the Turkish police conducted a raid in Usman Pasha area of Istanbul and released six hostages, while four abductors have also been arrested during the raid. The police said that these Pakistanis were held hostage by an Afghan-Turk gang. Muhammad Adil and Muhammad Zeeshan, Usman Ali, Ashbar Ahmad are among those who were held in captivity.
