The Lahore Township Industries Association (LTIA) has constituted two committees to deal with the announced and unannounced load-shedding. This was decided at a meeting chaired by the LTIA Chairman Haroon Shafiq Chaudhry and was attended by a large number of industrialists of the area. Mian Anjum Nisar and a number of former LTIA Chairmen were present on the occasion.
Participants of the meeting also decided to put off the strike call given for April 26, as there was no unscheduled load-shedding on April 25.
One of the committees, formed by LTIA, would contact PEPCO authorities and Federal Minister for Water and Power, while other committee would finalise the protest plan in consultation with other industrial areas in the Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion, former LCCI President Mian Anjum Nisar said that it was unfortunate that both Federal and Provincial governments have failed to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity and are spending all their energies for saving their governments. He said that the business community was extremely disturbed over the situation and wanted the prime minister to take look into this matter.
