National Accountability Bureau Director General Saleem Shahzad on Thursday handed over cheque of Rs 29.274 million to Finance Additional Secretary Muhammad Aslam Khattak.
Addressing the distribution ceremony, the NAB KP DG said that the amount was embezzled by officials of various departments. He said that policies devised under the guidance of NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has drawn worldwide acclamation. He said that National Anti-Corruption Strategy has produced dramatic results in mobilising each and every member of the society against menace of corruption.
He said that the NAB was following a policy of zero tolerance for corrupt and corruption. He said that the NAB has recovered a record amount of Rs 279 billion from the corrupt that was a proof of our success and commitment.
There is probably still lot needed to be done in this regard and hopefully for the future would govern better grounds for the individuals to proceed further.
