Poor students to be financed by Sindh government: Jam Mehtab

Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Tuesday said that the Sindh education department would finance the education of poor students in government colleges and well-reputed institutions so that they might receive high-quality education.

He announced this while talking to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Law University Vice Chancellor Justice (r) Qazi Khalid Ali here in his office, according to a statement.

Colleges Director General Dr Nasir Ansar and Colleges Secretary Dr Riaz Ahmed Memon also attended the meeting.

“Sindh’s education department is ready to provide classrooms in government colleges to private educational institutions of good repute so that the space might be utilised to teach poor students of government colleges,” he said.

Meanwhile, the newly assigned Schools Secretary Jamal Mustafa Syed held a meeting with the minister for education in his office and discussed various matters pertaining to the department.

Education Department Curriculum Head Dr Fouzia Khan also met the minister and briefed him regarding the legislation for free education in the province.

Dr Riaz Ahmed Memon informed the minister that he would visit government colleges all over Sindh to monitor their status and present a detailed report.
