Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Pakistan Leader Munawar Hassan on Sunday held the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) equally responsible with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for pushing the country into price-hike, load-shedding, unemployment and worsening law and order.
He was addressing a public gathering at Sadiqababd Chowk after visiting a membership camp. He said that the present leadership, whether it was the PPP or the PML-N, had failed to address the grievances of the people.
He asked the people to reject the United States (US)’s slaves and give a chance to honest leadership through ballot. He was of the view that the problems faced by the nation could not be resolved unless the people elected the ‘right’ representatives. He advocated for a joint strategy to get rid of “US slavery”. The JI leader criticised the PPP government in Sindh, saying it had entered into an alliance with the assassins to retain power in the province.
He also opposed military operation in various parts of the country, saying the solution lied in dialogue and that the army chief had also endorsed this. He demanded the government to withdraw army from Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Hassan said the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation forces were facing defeat in Afghanistan, adding that Pakistan was also suffering because of the US policies. He asked the government to accept the right of Baloch people on Balochistan’s resources.
