The Special Court (Central) on Friday granted a post-arrest bail to a former director of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in a case regarding his dual nationality.
Special Judge Malik Nazir heard the bail plea of FIA’s former officer, Sajjad Haider.
The counsel for the accused adopted the stance that the case was registered by the FIA just to victimise his client as Sajjad Haider was not holding any dual nationality, it was noted.
The former FIA director was arrested on Thursday after the cancellation of his interim bail in the above case and later the court sent him on judicial remand.
The FIA had registered a case against the accused for holding dual nationality. The post-arrest bail of FIA’s former director was accepted against the surety bonds worth Rs 200,000.
