Whether it’s a new food craze you’d like to try, or an outfit you have on your wishlist, Instagram now has the ability to save posts so that they can be revisited later on.
The bookmarking function enables users to save the posts straight from their feed.
They will then appear in a new ‘Saved’ tab on their profile.
“Starting today, you can save posts you’d like to revisit later. Now you’ll see a new bookmark icon underneath posts in your feed. Simply tap it to save a post to a new, private tab on your profile. There you can see all the posts you’ve saved — and they’re only visible to you,” Instagram announced in a blog post.
Till now users used to screenshot what they wanted to save but this feature will certainly change that. Instagram’s ‘save’ feature makes the post you save private so people don’t find out if you save their posts.
While this feature certainly reduces efforts to save posts by others, it is a matter of debate whether it makes stalking easier.
The new feature is part of Instagram version 10.2, which is available today for iOS and Android.
It will also arrive on Windows 10 in the coming weeks.
Earlier this month, Instagram introduced the ability to turn off comments in order to banish trolls who leave offensive remarks.
Users are also being given the ability to remove followers from accounts that are private and not visible to the public.
As well as the troll-busting features, the update will also add the ability to ‘like’ comments.
The updates are the latest in a set of tools and controls that the photo-sharing app has been adding to make Instagram a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone.
By using this apps a lot of people can get the benefit.
