Sindh government’s code of conduct for 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal would be enforced in letter and spirit, said Deputy Commissioner Dr Waseem Ali.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of district officials and religious scholars held here on Friday to review arrangements for celebrating Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) in befitting manner. The DC appealed to the representatives of all religious organizations and particularly religious scholars to extend their cooperation to avert any eventuality and for maintaining peace, order and religious harmony.
He called for keeping vigil over suspicious activities and said that in case of any emergency or suspicious activity district control room should be informed at the earliest. The DC directed the chairmen of municipal and town committees to ensure cleanliness and lighting on the routes of processions. He also instructed SEPCO officials to avoid load shedding on the day.
District Council Chairman Abdul Sattar Abbasi said that Naushahro Feroze was a peaceful district and it was duty of every resident of the district to be vigilant to thwart evil designs of enemies of peace.
SSP Altaf Laghari briefed that a contingency plan was framed for security of Milad congregations and processions and heavy contingents of police and Rangers would be deputed throughout the district. The scholars from different schools of thought and citizens assured their cooperation for maintenance of peace and tranquillity on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).
