In the wake of International Day against Corruption, district administration Mirpurkhas organized an awareness rally on Friday to raise awareness against the menace of corruption among the masses.
The rally, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner II Ghulam Hussain Kanhio, was brought out from the Commissioner’s Office and it culminated in front of Mirpurkhas press club.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Hussain Kanhio said that the corruption
was a social evil and for its elimination collective efforts on part of every individual were required.
He said that progress and prosperity of Pakistan laid on elimination of corruption and time was ripe to exhibit zero tolerance towards corruption so that our future generations could flourish in corruption free society.
Later, Kachhi Community Development Association (a community based NGO) also organized a seminar in connection with the international day. Speaking on the occasion, Information Deputy Director Ghulam Raza Khoso, Labour District Officer Zubair Qambrani, Social Welfare DDO Junaid Mirza, CCDA Director Semuel, Programme Officer Huma Aslam and other stressed the need of weeding out corruption from the society.
They were of the opinion that corruption prevailed not only in government and private sector entities but also in our attitudes therefore every individual had to commit for bringing change in itself.
The student belonging to different educational institutes run by CCDA presented drama and tableaus while a painting exhibition was also organized on the theme. The seminar concluded with distribution of shields among top performers.
