Sacrifices rendered by Karsaz martyrs will not go in vain: Gilani

ISLAMABAD: Paying tribute to the sacrifices of the Karsaz martyrs, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the sacrifices rendered by the Karsaz martyrs will not be in vain and the vision of the late Benazir Bhutto, to make Pakistan a democratic, progressive and prosperous country will be translated into a reality.
He expressed these views while talking to the Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim at the PM’s House on Monday. “This day reminds us that moderate and democratic forces are battling against extremism.
Benazir Bhutto was the symbol of resistance against the forces of extremism and militancy,” said the prime minister and added that the sacrifice of the martyrs has strengthened the resolve of the nation to stand against these forces. Gilani said that the government has embarked upon a policy of reconciliation and consultation in line with the vision of the late Benazir Bhutto and this has helped in the resolution of matters of national importance.
He reiterated the resolve of the government to pursue this policy in their future course of governance. Amin Fahim informed the prime minister about various initiatives being undertaken by the Ministry of Commerce for further enhancing the trade links of Pakistan with various international blocks and countries. He also briefed the prime minister about the projected trade volume and other steps for attracting more investment for various sectors in the country.
