The National Assembly Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reform on Thursday visited different sites of the Neelum-Jhelum Hydro Power Project and monitored the physical progress of the project, which is being delayed for a long time and its cost has gone up many folds.
The committee member met at Office of the Neelum-Jhelum Hydro Power Project (NJHPP) CEO in Muzaffarabad (AJK) under the chairmanship of MNA Abdul Majeed Khan.
The committee was apprised that the Neelum-Jhelum Project would be operational by December, 2017. The committee directed that all the efforts be made to complete the project in line with the given time frame
MNAs, Ms Shaheen Shafiq, Mrs Shamas-un-Nisa, Junaid Akbar, Qaiser Jamal and Sheikh Salahuddin attended the meeting, besides officials of Ministry of Planning, Development & Reform and Ministry of Water & Power.
