The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved 48 paisa per unit hike in the price of electricity for the consumers of K-Electric on account of monthly fuel cost adjustment (FCA).
The regulatory authority (NEPRA) approved 48 paisa/unit increase in power price, which was sought by K-Electric under the head monthly FAC of October. The NEPRA’s hearing was held on Tuesday under the NEPRA chairman. However, the approved hike will not be applicable to domestic life line consumers using 300 units in a month.
According to the NEPRA, the fuel cost for power plants of K-Electric increased by total Rs 19 crore and 77 lakh while power generation with other sources also witnessed increase of Rs 5 crore and 64 lakh in the month of October.
During the course of NEPRA’s hearing, the K-Electric informed the regulatory authority that total one billion and fifty one crore units of electricity were sold to the consumers in the said month.
