Pakistan eager to follow Iran’s female sports model

Pakistan sports board on Tuesday expressed the desire to use Iran’s female sports abilities for the promotion of women sports here.

PSB Director General Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera expressed the desire in a meeting with Iranian Cultural Counsellor, Shahaboddin Daraei who called on him at Pakistan Sports Complex.

Shahaboddin Daraei welcomed the idea saying that Iran is ready to extend all kinds of cooperation to Pakistan in this regard. He added that Iran would like Pakistani coaches in order to train them according to the international standards.

The Iranian diplomat said that Iran can train Pakistani coaches and provide training facilities to Pakistan female athletes for different sports like volleyball, taekwondo and many other games.

He suggested that the Pakistani officials pay a visit to Iran’s Razavi Khorasan province and discuss the possibility of coaches and athletes exchange programs with the officials of the province.

PSB Director General said Iranian women sports system can be introduced in Pakistan as it will help promote the female sports in the country. He said Iran and Pakistan must cooperate in the field of sports because it would be very beneficial for the two countries.
