Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief and Kashmir Committee Chairman Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday.
Both the leaders strongly condemned the incidents of cruelties against unarmed Kashmiri people by Indian occupied forces in Occupied Kashmir and unprovoked firing at Line of Control (LoC) by Indian Army.
Shehbaz Sharif and Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman paid rich tributes to Kashmiri people laying down their lives for achieving right of self-determination and supreme sacrifices of Pakistani citizens and army personnel martyred due to unprovoked firing from the Indian side.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the movement of self-determination of the Kashmiri people cannot be pressed through bullet and carnage. He said that today every person of Occupied Kashmir is demanding freedom and Indian government cannot deprive the Kashmiri people of their basic right of freedom which they have been demanding for a long time. He said that the policy of cruelty and violence of Indian government has failed in Occupied Kashmir and Kashmiri people are writing a new history with their blood.
Shehbaz Sharif said that solution to Kashmir issue in accordance with UNO revolutions is necessary for lasting peace in the region and that Indian government will have to quit rigidity and come towards solution of the Kashmir dispute. He said that there is no justification of silence of the world community over human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir.
Pakistan will continue political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri people, he added. Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has raised Kashmir issue at international forums in an active manner.
