Village houses damaged, colleges closed after Indian border shelling along LoC

At least five houses were damaged in intensified shelling by Indian troops on the border villages in Dabsi Mohra sector along the line of control on Monday (today).

Indian forces targeted civilian settlements in at around 8:00am.

However, no loss of life or any injury was reported.

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) resorted to intermittent firing on the villages including Tarkandi, Dator, Lanjot, Dabsi Mohra, Nargal, Sakaki’s and Pilani areas of Nakyal sector.

The authorities also closed girls and boys degree colleges and declared an emergency at the Tehsil Headquarter Hospital. Additional ambulances have also been deployed in the areas close to the LoC.

Earlier in an interview with Radio Pakistan, Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria has said that India’s belligerent posturing is a danger to the peace of the region.

He said that United Nations, world powers and countries of the region should take notice of India’s belligerent behaviour.

Nafees Zakaria said that India has different motives behind the ceasefire violations. He said that ceasefire violations are to cover the domestic and political issues facing the Indian government.

Nafees Zakaria said that Pakistan has foiled all the Indian attempts of espionage. He said the Indian drone has been shot dead as was done in the past and its attempt to intrude Pakistan’s territorial waters was also bounced back with force.
