The National Assembly on Friday passed a unanimous resolution strongly condemning the Indian attacks along the LoC causing loss of lives of Pakistani soldiers.
The resolution, moved by Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Chaudhary Muhammad Barjees Tahir, expressed deep concern over the tragic incidents of unprovoked Indian firing in which seven soldiers of Pakistan Army embraced Shahadat at the LoC in Bhimber sector.
The House took serious cognizance of the unprovoked and barbarian attack on the Pakistani forces by the Indian Army. The House through resolution, recognized the sacrifices of Pakistan Army and paid glowing tributes to the martyred soldiers for their valour. The House will now meet on Monday at 4pm.
Earlier, the National Assembly was informed that the government was taking concrete steps to deal with the increasing cases of hepatitis in the country. The information was given by National Health Services Parliamentary Secretary Dr Darshan while responding to a calling attention notice moved by Khalida Mansoor and others, regarding rampant increase in the number of Hepatitis patients. He said vaccine of Hepatitis B was available where as there was no vaccine of Hepatitis C. He, however, said its treatment was available.
Dr Darshan said that the doctors were also being trained for the treatment of Hepatitis.
He said that the government was also working on provision of clean drinking water to the people as contaminated water was the main cause of Hepatitis. He said it was the vision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to provide clean drinking water across the country.
Replying to another calling attention notice moved by Dr Nafisa Shah and others regarding explosion in an oil tanker at Gadani ship-breaking yard, Minister for Ports and Shipping Mir Hasil Bizenjo told the House that two committees were formed to investigate the incident. He said the committee formed by the federal government has already presented its report to the prime minister while report of the committee formed by the Balochistan government is under preparation.
The minister said the government has announced compensation for the victims of incident and three officers have been suspended for showing negligence. Hasil Bizenjo said that the Gadani shipyard lacked facilities like fire tenders. He said safety measures were being improved at the shipyard.
