The Sindh High Court on Friday also issued notices to the Religious Affairs Secretary and the Deputy Attorney General on a petition regarding issuance of Haj licences and quotas.
Petitioners M/s Sailani travels and tours operative, M/s Karvan-e-Barkat Hajj Tours and nine others had filed a constitutional petition, stating that in 2010, the apex court had ordered the respondents to issue licences and Haj quotas but the Religious Affairs Ministry has now issued licences and quotas to only 96 companies while ignoring the appellants.
The petitioners pleaded that the court should direct the respondents to issue Hajj licenses and quotas to their companies also.
