Sharjeel Memon’s bail before arrest extended to Dec 1

Sindh High Court on Monday extended the bail before arrest of former Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon till December 1st in corruption charges.

A SHC bench heard the bail application of Sharjeel Inam Memon and others accused of corruption.

Memon’s counsel Dr Faiz Shah plead that his client was seriously ill and could not come back to the country immediately.

He pleaded the court to extend his bail before arrest in the corruption case. The court extended his bail before arrest by December 1, 2016.

The NAB has filed a corruption charge against Memon, other information department officials and advertising companies’ representatives for illegalities in the process of awarding contracts worth over Rs5 billion for an official Sindh government awareness campaign.

Zulfiqar Ali Shalwani and Mansoor Ahmed and others are co-accused in the case.

The NAB has also filed another case against Memon for illegal allotment and adjustment Malir land in favour of Bahria Town.
