In line with the directives of Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla, a drive against drug peddlers is underway in the city and in recent action the E&T team arrested two drugs smugglers besides recovering 2.5 kilogrammes of hashish and 80 grammes of ice (a refined form of heroin). A drug den was also destroyed during the action.
According to details, a team of E&T led by IO Syed Zafar Ali raided the production den of a drug peddler Bilal in Kosar Niazi Colony North Nazimabad and recovered 2.5 kilogrammes of hashish. The raiding team arrested Bilal and destroyed his den.
The E&T team recovered the heroin from Muhammad Agha during a search. The detainee admitted to having contacts with international drug smuggling networks.
Cases were registered against the accused and they are being investigated.
