NH&MP prepare for Raiwind Ijtima

National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Central Zone have increased patrolling on highways to ensure safe journeys for commuters and those participating in the Tableeghi Ijtima in Raiwind, Lahore.

A comprehensive strategy has been planned in a high-level meeting under the supervision of DIG N-5 Central Faran Baig.

Additional patrolling vehicles have added to cover the congested areas. Direction signs have been displayed at appropriate locations on national highways and motorways.

A control room has been established at NH&MP Guidance Centre Lahore which will coordinate with another control room at the Ijtima. NH&MP officers have also been deployed at the main control room at Riawind who will send updates regarding traffic volume on dispersal day, according to the DIG.

NH&MP ambulances along with regional medical officers and paramedical staff have been also directed to remain alert 24/7. Similarly, recovery vehicles are also on standby to respond to any emergency situation.

General commuters were advised to avoid travelling on national highways from 12 noon to 3pm on Sunday. During the said time, a large volume of traffic huge rush is expected following the conclusion of the Ijtima between 8am and 4pm on the same day.
