District administration has chalked out a comprehensive plan to ensure peace and harmony during the processions of Chehlum of Imam Hussain in different parts of the city.
Lahore DCO Captain (R) Muhammad Usman said this while reviewing arrangements during a meeting at his office on Tuesday.
Moulana Abdul Khabir, Arif Noori, town administrators, Rescue 1122 officials, municipal officers and prominent Shia community representatives were also present on this occasion.
DCO while listening to the problem of Shia participants directed the officials of district administration to utilize all resources to make this religious event peaceful.
He further said the Lahore City District Government’s (CDGL,)Civil Defence Department along with police personnel will be deployed at sensitive points.
He directed town administrators to remove political banners, wall chalking and encroachments on the routes of procession.
He issued instructions to the LESCO and PTCL officials to keep the hanging wires of electricity, telephone cables in order.
He said the patch work on roads and streets on the routes should also be completed as early as possible.
DCO assured Shia leaders that there would not be electricity failure during the timings of procession while CDGL would also keep standby generators.
Usman further revealed that CDGL along with Traffic Police and Lahore Parking Company devised traffic plan and it would also install walk through gates on the entry points of routes.
DCO also reviewed arrangements for the Urs of Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh. He issued instructions to check the security measures at the shrine and ensure foolproof security during Urs.
He directed the officials of WASA, LWMC, Lahore Parking Company and district administration to develop close liaison to make better arrangements.
