Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) will prepare a list of all allottees as per their quota and display it on their official website in order to ensure the transparency in the process of allotments.
The FGEHF has already issued 5,500 consent letters to the allottees, asking them to pay the first instalment and has received 7 billion rupees. The amount collected has been transmitted to Islamabad office’s deputy commissioner.
Sources privy to the development said that there are only 7,000 plots in F-14 and F-15. However, the authority is of the view that they will scrutinise the list of allottees who submitted their first instalments.
As per the regulations, FGEHF have to scrutinise the list of allottees as per their quota before issuing the consent letters.
There have been some allegations and media reports that the incumbent administration of FGEHF is minting money from the acquisition of land to the allotment.
National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing and Works has also directed the FGEHF to place lists of allottees in sector F-14 and F-15 on its website to ensure transparency in the allotment process.
The committee also directed action against encroachments and non-conforming use of residential and commercial properties in sectors under its administrative control.
The standing committee, while discussing the progress on preparation and finalisation of lists of membership in housing projects in Sectors F.14 and F-15 Islamabad, directed Housing Foundation to ensure transparency by displaying lists as per laid down criteria and quotas for various categories of employees of federal government, constitutional bodies and media on website of the housing foundation.
The committee called for expedition of the development process for handing over the possession of the plots. The Representative of FGEHF apprised the committee that as a result of the membership drive, more than 79,000 federal government employees and others have been registered as member since April, 2015 to May, 2016.
However as per instruction of the committee, quota wise and category wise, lists for allotment of plot of sector F-14 and F-15 have been prepared and consent letters have been issued to members in categories 1 to 3. The FGEHF representative further apprised that land acquisition process with district collector was also being pursued.
While discussing the actions against encroachers in Sector G-13 and G-14 by FGEHF Enforcement Directorate, the committee expressed its dissatisfaction on the progress and directed FGEHF for indiscriminate action against encroachers and non-conformers.
When contacted, FHEHF Director General Waqas Ali Mahmood said that the authority was willing to obey the directions of the National Assembly and will display the list of allottees as soon as possible. He said the process of making a data base for the website was already under process.
