Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to approach Peshawar High Court (PHC) against the federal government over neglecting the province in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

While talking to media, spokesperson for KP government Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani has said that speaker KP assembly will file a writ in PHC on behalf of the province on Monday.

“The federal government had promised to construct the western route of CPEC and give its legitimate share to KP but besides only one connecting road no other portion has been allotted and no documents of the project has been provided,” he told.

Ghani said that a joint resolution has been passed in the provincial assembly over providing a legitimate share to KP in CPEC.

“All the parliamentary leaders of political parties have given the right to the speaker to adopt a legal way for the rights of the province. According to this decision, the speaker will file a writ in PHC against the federal government,” he explained.
