Over a dozen persons have been injured in attacks by a wild animal in different villages of Lakki Marwat, Khber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to a private news channel, ten persons injured by a wild animal were brought to Lakki Marwat Hospital while three critically injured were admitted to Bannu Hospital.

Local people had expressed concerns over the attacks and urged the authorities to take remedial measures.  Elite Police Force personnel and sharp shooters were reportedly in the area to kill the wild animal.

District Police Officer Khalid Hamdani said the animal had attacked people with jaws and claws in Wanda Rehmana, Wanda Katana and Land Ahmedkhel villages during night.

According to former District Health Officer Dr Iqbal Marwat, it was not a rabid dog and some people, who had seen it, said it looked like a hyena. As a matter of precaution, rabies vaccine had been given to the affected people.
