KU Elections Convener for KUTS 2016-17 Prof Dr Abid Hasnain has notified that the annual elections of Karachi University Teachers’ Society would be held today (November 3) at KU Arts Auditorium.
Karachi University Teachers’ Forum and Teachers’ Alliance for Good Governance are the two panels contesting the elections. Teachers’ Forum has nominated Prof Dr Jamil Hasan Kazmi for the post of the president while Dr Shakeel Farooqui is the presidential candidate of Teachers’ Alliance for Good Governance.
Teachers’ Forum has nominated Prof Dr SM Taha, Prof Dr Harris Shoiab and Dr Ghufran Alam for the posts of vice-president, secretary and treasurer respectively. Dr Maqsood Ali Ansari, Mohsin Ali and Dr Shah Ali Qadar are the candidates for the posts of vice-president, treasurer and secretary respectively nominated by the Teachers’ Alliance for Good Governance.
For the positions of joint secretary, Teachers’ Forum has nominated Dr Basit Ansari and Dr Uzma Ishaq while Dr Afaq Ahmed Siddiqui and Dr Sarwat Afshan are the candidates of Teachers’ Alliance for Good Governance.
Nominated members for the executive council include Anila Ambar Malik, Anila Kausar, Moiz Khan, Mutahir Ahmed, Asghar Ali, Asad Khan Tanoli, Asim Ali, Faizan Naqvi, Ghazal Khawaja, Intikhab Ulfat, Lubna Ghazal, Mahboob Hassan Muqaddam, Majid Mumtaz, Mudassir Uddin, Muhammad Azeem, Muhammad Osama Shafiq, Nadeem Ahmed Khan, Naila Siddiqua, Naima Saeed, Naveed Arshad, Riaz Ahmed, Sadia Mahmood, Sumayyah Saadi, Tanveer Abbas, Taseer Ahmed Khan, Waqar Ahmed, Zafar Iqbal Shams, Zamin Shaheed Siddiqui, Zeeshan Akhtar and Zeeshan Atique.
