PAT joins PTI’s protests

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Tahirul Qadri announced on Monday to participate in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI)’s sit-in and protests against the government.

He was talking to a private TV channel on phone. Condemning the crackdown against PTI activists and leaders before their November 2 ‘lockdown’ call, the PAT chief said that rulers did not believe in democracy and humanity.

The PAT chief said his party would be fully participating in the Nov 2 demonstration of Islamabad. The PAT chief said, ‘We have always being demanding accountability of the rulers and a structural change in the electoral system of the country’.

Asked about his personal presence, Dr Tahirul Qadri said that he would announce this at an appropriate time as this would be decided after consultations with senior party leaders. The PAT chief said that he has informed the PAT leadership in Pakistan including Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, secretary general of the party, about his discussion with Imran Khan and also about his decision of joining the sit-in.

Dr Tahirul Qadri said that he has told the party secretary general Khurram Nawaz Gandapur to start preparations for joining the PTI dharna and to gear up all our workers and leaders towards this end. He said our war against corruption would continue. He said it was our joint and collective struggle against corruption and against this corrupt system.
