Former Punjab governor and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said that corruption of Pakistan Muslim League – N (PML-N) was like a suicide attack on democracy.
He said that accountability of the corrupt rulers and bringing them to justice was essential for democracy in Pakistan, adding that the PML-N has shut down the whole of Punjab before the November 2 protest of PTI. We don’t know why the government is afraid of a peaceful protest, he asked.
He expressed these views while talking to journalists in Lahore.
He said the PML-N was using force to suppress the voice of masses but the rulers would have to be held accountable for their corruption. We will continue our protest until corruption is eradicated and our protest can’t be stopped forcibly, he added.
He said the Punjab police had been torturing and arresting the innocent workers of PTI but the party would hold its ‘peaceful’ protest on November 2 despite all odds.
