Advisory committee meeting of Baba Guru Nanak, Gandhara universities held

An important meeting of the advisory committee of Baba Guru Nanak International University, Nankana

Sahib, and Gandhara University, Texila, was held on Saturday.

Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Muhammad Siddiqul Farooq presided over the meeting in which Higher Education Commission Punjab’s Professor Nizamuddeen, Punjab University Vice Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran, Dr Junaid Zaidi and others were present on the occasion.

Talking to the media after the meeting, the ETPB chairman said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif would lay the foundation stone of Baba Guru Nanak International University in November. The PM has promised full cooperation in this regard, he said. He said that steps are being taken for promotion of religious tourism.

The committee decided that these universities will prove to be of international standard institutions.

Special departments will be set up in these universities for research on Baba Guru Nanak, Baba Fareed Shakar Gunj and Gotham Budh, he added.
