SC forms larger bench to hear petitions on Panama Leaks

The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday constituted a larger bench to hear petitions seeking investigation into Panama Leaks.

The 5-member bench of SC comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, Justice Amir Hani Muslim, Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh and Justice Ejaz-ul-Hassan will take up for hearing the petitions on November 1.

The SC has already issued notices to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and other parties concerned. PTI, Jamaat-e-Islami, Awami Muslim League, Jamhoori Wattan Party and Tariq Asad advocate had filed constitutional petitions seeking investigation into Panama Leaks.

The court had heard the case on October 20 and issued notices to PM Nawaz Sharif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Maryam Nawaz, Capt (retd) Safdar, Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz, FIA DG, FBR chairman and others besides adjourning the hearing of the case for two weeks. Later, the SC had fixed November 1 for hearing the case.
