A large body of police gathered outside Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Leader Jahangir Tareen’s house in Islamabad, a day after the leader filed a petition against the prime minister in the Lahore High Court.

According to reports, the PTI leader was not at home when police authorities arrived. Further, the motive behind officials surrounding Tareen’s residence remains unknown.

Talking to media, Tareen confirmed the presence of a contingent of police outside his house and said that this is the first time something like this had happened. He further said that his party will not retreat from its objectives.

Tareen on Wednesday filed a petition in LHC, seeking disqualification of the prime minister over the involvement of his family members in offshore businesses. In the constitutional petition, the PTI leader submitted the Panama Papers had revealed the massive corruption of the ruling elite, confirming the Sharif family was involved in money laundering.

The petitioner contended a reference was sent to the National Assembly speaker against the premier but the former dismissed the reference instead of referring it to the election commission.

Further, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday ordered authorities not to place any containers or block roads for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Islamabad lockdown on November 2.
