Karachi Administrator Fazlur Rehman has issued an order under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code to prohibit swimming at all the beaches of the city. Access of individuals and families to some recreational points – including Sunerah Beach, Mubarak Village Beach, Neelam Point and Cape Mounze – has also been banned. The order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period of seven days from the date of its promulgation.
