Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Senator Aitzaz Ahsan on Monday warned that his party would join hands with Imran Khan in his November 2 protest in Islamabad if the government continued arresting party workers.

Talking to media outside the Lahore High Court, Aitzaz said the PPP would review its decision to stay away from the PTI protest in the federal capital if its political workers were tortured by the government.

He said the PPP considered Imran Khan to be on rightful stance, and reiterated that accountability should begin from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.

“No national institutions including the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) took up a single step for accountability, the PPP stalwart said, adding, “The same institutions would have launched full-fledged accountability operation, had there been any other businessman.”
